General Information

July is the period of vacations. But in spite of this, the milk market of Ukraine is not calm. The price of raw milk begins to grow. In Ukraine, so-called dairy "wars" already began. Dairy exports remains a popular theme of in Ukraine.

Raw milk trends

The producers of raw milk are beginning to create a boom in the market. They want to raise the price by 0,02-0,04 usd/kg. At the end of the month, the price range for raw milk was 0,3-0,33 usd/kg. The first half of the year demonstrates milk production growth by 3% compared to last year.

Butter

The price for butter in July is the same as in June. Butter with a fat content of 72.5% is sold for export at a price of 3700-3900 dollars per ton. Butter with a fat content of more than 82% is sold an average of 4500 dollars per ton. Butter production in the first half of 2017 grew by 6% compared with 2016, while exports increased 3-fold.

Casein

The month of July was not very good for casein manufacturers. Throughout the month, the price of casein was falling. The average price was 5500-5700 dollars per ton.

2017 may put a record for casein production . During the first half of the year, 3.4 thousand tons were produced.

Our forecast

In August, the price increase for raw materials is expected. Butter prices will increase, as production will decrease. Manufacturers will begin to procure butter for winter. Expected to raise prices for casein.
