Trends in the dairy market in Ukraine.
General Information
In August, a large number of dairy products were exported at stable prices. Domestic sales remained low. Raw milk price begins to grow rapidly. Raw milk volumes are reducing due to season.
Raw milk - trends
Despite the fact that prices for dairy products in Ukraine were stable, prices for raw milk rose steadily. At the end of summer, raw milk price has almost reached the level of winter 2017. The price in August was in range of 0.33-0.35 USD/Kg.
Butter
The demand for butter on domestic market went down further with rising prices. Butter with a fat content of 72.5% is not profitable to export at a price of 3800 dollars per ton. Butter with a fat content of more than 82% is sold at an average of 4800
dollars per ton. In Europe, such butter is exported for more than 5000 US dollars per ton. Butter production is decreasing, as the amount of raw milk decreases.
Casein
The situation on the casein market is good for Ukrainian producers at the end of summer. The product is getting more expensive. In late August, the price of casein was 6000-6300 dollars per ton.
Raw materials price increase will not lead to production cessation, at least until the middle of autumn.

Our forecast
In September, prices of raw materials are expected to rise again. Butter prices will increase, as the price increases on the world market. Casein production will decrease. In Ukraine, demand for fresh dairy products will increase on the domestic market.
