Trends in the dairy market in Ukraine.
General Information
In Ukraine, in January, there are many weekends and holidays. The dairy market was not very active. Milk producers are expecting state support in 2018. Dairy products exports in January decreased in comparison with December.
Raw milk - trends
In Ukraine, it is planned to introduce strict requirements for the milk quality. In general, the price of raw milk has fallen by 10%. On average, raw milk price reached 0,34 USD / Kg. In January, dairy producers were actively discussing state support and laws to be adopted in 2018 but nothing precise yet confirmed.
Butter
There was no significant drop in the butter export price in Ukraine. Butter with a fat content of 72.5% is exported for 3600 US dollars per ton. Butter with a fat content of 82% is sold on average 4200-4300 dollars per ton. In January, Ukraine produced 7300 tons of butter. It is 7% more than in the same period last year.
Casein
The price for Ukrainian casein in January was 5200-5400 USD per ton. Casein production practically did not decrease compared with December.
