Radyvylivmoloko brief market review.
Trends in the dairy market in Ukraine.
Dairy producers began to sum up 2017 year in November. Ukrainian dairy conferencewas held in November. In general, 2017 was a good year for dairy industry. The most successful this year was for the raw milk producers. It seems that the crisis in the dairy market in Ukraine has passed.
Raw milk - trends
Dairy producers in November failed to agree with the raw milk producers to reduce prices. On average, raw materials price reached 0.37-0,38 USD / Kg. Due to the fact that the demand for dairy products in Ukraine is not high, the raw materials price is expected to decrease.
The trend to reduce butter prices in the world has not changed. Butter with a fat content of 72.5% is exported for 3900-4100 US dollars per ton. Butter with a fat content of more than 82% is sold on average 4400 dollars per ton. Butter production decreased by 12% compared to the previousmonth. Butter production decrease is affeted by raw milk supply decrease and also because of price decrease for butter.
The casein season in Ukraine is practically over. The price for Ukrainian casein in November was 5200 USD per ton. With existing raw milk prices, such price is unprofitable for majority of Ukrainian producers.
Raw milk price should decrease in December. Despite the low casein price, in December, about 100 tons will be produced in Ukraine. The butter production will continue decreasing.
